This versatile pattern features a simple, sophisticated loose fitting knee-length dress or a cute top with a modern dipped back hem and a variety of sleeve styles to choose from.

It features the perfect scoop neckline, finished with a neat facing and simple keyhole fastening at the back neck.

Make the simple sleeveless shell top or shift dress, perfect for beginners, or add pretty frill detail sleeves or wrist length sleeves for cooler days - or a combination of the two!

We designed this pattern to offer a beginner friendly dress pattern with plenty of variations to try as your experience and skills develop.
The fit is loose at the waist and hips with all the fitting at the bust. This is a great style to use if you want to try a full bust adjustment for the first time.
The soft flutter sleeves offer a chance to practice sewing curved hems.
The insructions include a clear step by step guide to making a dart and, as with all MHW patterns, include clear photos, so even the most novice sewer will be able to successfully make their first dress. And many more to come!
We recommend a light to medium weight woven fabric for this pattern. Suitable fabrics include: cotton lawn, chambray, viscose challis, viscose twill, cotton poplin, craft cotton, linen, baby cord.
However, because of the looser fit and simple styling, you can use this pattern to really experiment with new fabrics. We’ve made it in stable scuba jersey, stretch velvet and sequins, lined with jersey! Take a look at our Inspiration section for lots of ideas!

The 3 by 3 Tees can be made in MHW sizes XS – XXL.
It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. For this pattern we have opted to use sizing XS – XXL, which approximately covers UK sizes 8 – 24. Measure yourself first to choose the right size for you!
